Hsuan (Megan) Tsao

Hsuan (Megan) Tsao is a PhD student in the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University, supervised by Dr. Satoshi Yoshiji and affiliated with the McGill Genomic Medicine Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) Program. She previously earned an M.Sc. in Human Genetics at McGill and a B.Sc. in Human Biology and Sociology from the University of Toronto. With interdisciplinary experience spanning basic science, clinical research, and the pharmaceutical industry, she is passionate about applying multi-omics approaches to explore genotype–phenotype relationships in complex diseases across diverse populations, with the goal of driving translational impact and advancing health equity. At the CGP, under the supervision of Prof. Yann Joly, her internship project contributes to a GA4GH study group that aims to identify legal, ethical, and technical barriers to international genomic data sharing in East Asian countries, ultimately informing policy tools that support more equitable global collaboration in genomics.
