Forough is a PhD student in the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University and Génome Québec Innovation Centre under the supervision of Dr. Yann Joly. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Honours) from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 2013 and a Master of Science in Human Genetics from McGill University in 2016. She worked as a research assistant in Dr. Vladimir Titorenko’s laboratory in Montreal assisting with a project investigating chronological aging in yeast as a developmental program for her undergraduate degree. During her master’s studies at McGill, Forough worked at the Montreal Neurological Institute studying rare neurological diseases. Her main focuses were on Ataxias, Leukodystrophies and Congenital Myopathies.
Forough’s research at the Centre of Genomics and Policy revolves around ethical, societal and regulatory aspects of genome editing.
